Our Story
We met online in March of 2019 when, as Robert likes to put it, Robert was looking for a Houston tour guide as he was in the midst of building a home in Houston.
After getting to know each other through phone calls and texts, we met in person for the first time the day after the Houston flood in May. Robert was lucky that day because I was actually off of work due to school being canceled because of the weather. Our day started with lunch and that lunch must have led Robert to being 100% sure that I was THE ONE because he made a quick visit to see his mom and aunt while they were at work, bringing me along to meet them. Needless to say, we have been together ever since.
I was lucky enough that I actually had the opportunity to select both my engagement ring and wedding band before Robert proposed. While on a December cruise, and on my birthday, we stopped at a jewelry store in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands where I saw a band I loved and a beautiful solitaire diamond that made my eyes twinkle. Robert saw the look on my face and he was sold. The rings remained in safekeeping until Robert had "the talk" with my parents.
That talk happened on January 18, 2020, and Robert proposed to me later that same night. It was just the two of us, a private proposal where Robert expressed how much he loved and cared for me and wanted us to grow together. And of course, I said, "YES!"
We are excited about the journey we will embark upon as husband and wife, and we are looking forward to celebrating with everyone in January.
